...for Wholeness THIS IS THE YEAR... “Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come.” Rev 1:4-8 Last week, a dear friend unexpectedly passed away. We had served with her at church for years and become very close with her family. On Saturday we will celebrate her life and the heavenly inheritance while comforting her family and friends. A few weeks ago, the eightyear-old daughter of our lifelong friends was given a terminal diagnosis. The father and I served as pastors together in our first church and our families grew up together. They are now navigating what it looks like to help their daughter transition into heaven. It was in this state of mind that my wife and I fell into a discussion about three different types of people. I had just spent Sunday afternoon talking to our friends who lost their mother and spouse. They talked about her life and their wonderful memories with her. They spoke of her willingness to pray at any moment, how hundreds of sheets of paper in the house were covered with scripture, and how she would quietly live out her faith in service each and every day. For this family the past was a comfort and they spent the warm afternoon dwelling on those wonderful memories. We saw the joy they received from reliving those past loving moments and we were blessed to be a part of them. This focus on the past was contrasted with another young woman we knew. She intentionally lived her life in the “now.” always enjoying the moment and being constantly “present”. Her life appeared fun with ample opportunity for happiness. She had collected experiences and was always looking for more. Her comfort was found by living in the here and now without dwelling to long on the past or thinking too hard about the future. In our own moment of sadness, this seemed like a beautifully distracting way to live. Finally, there are those who look to the future. About seven years ago, my father passed away in an ATV accident. “Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come.” Revelation 1:4-8 and pain for our family are finally healing but my mom still has a hope that she will see her husband soon. For her, the future is her comfort. The past is full of memories, good and bad, the “now” is still not perfect, but one day, my mom will be able to join my dad in Heaven. She is ready and we bless her to take the journey in God’s timing. Thinking through these situations, my wife said, “And that is why we must have all three; the past, the present and the future. Because God has made us for all of them.” Wholeness of a person, group, or organization starts with embracing this thought; that God has made us to know our past, work in the present and hope for our future. We see God’s hand helping and guiding us through the hard times. We daily rely on His miracles to seize the opportunities He brings. And we look forward to His Heaven where everything is made anew. We must be a “fourth” type of person; one who is whole with our history, comfortable with our today and excited for our tomorrow. And the same is true of the pro-life movement. continued on page 6...
Wholeness in the Movement The past of the pro-life movement is beautiful. The earliest pro-life pioneers saw women being misled into a decision that would create pain and end the life of a baby; and they reacted. From Dr. Sacco sharing pictures of babies killed by abortion, to Phyllis Schlafly fighting in the political arena, to the earliest “We Care” homes giving women a family in desperate times, the responses were varied but heartfelt. Their love, joy, and hard work is an inspiration to us today and their bold methodologies help set a path to follow as the culture becomes more hostile. To be whole as a movement, our history must be understood and celebrated. While not everything done in the past was perfect, it was done with a desire to save and change lives; and that is true of today. Our respect of the previous generations is not only deserved, but it strengthens our movement today as we build upon the foundation they have provided. God has also created us for such a time as this. Our present situation is fast-moving and complex yet every day the needs of those facing abortion are being met and lives are being changed. We have tasted a victory in Dobbs but it also transformed our “now” dramatically as we have had to adjust to onslaught of those promoting abortion. But we continue. We can take solace in the fact that those before have persevered through hard times and have prevailed. We see their work, their struggles, their foundations and we can continue to grow and adapt into the future. This is how the movement must be whole; to live in the present while standing on the knowledge and wisdom of the past. There may be a temptation in the present to throw off the past and “re-imagine” the movement. Yet so many times this results in repeated mistakes and partnerless solutions. There are new ideas that must be tested, there are new thoughts that need to be expressed, but beware the idea that devalues decades of knowledge from those who came before. Finally, there is the hope of the pro-life movement. For decades, we looked forward to the day that Roe-v-Wade was overturned. It was prayed for and sought after in the political spectrum, and it finally happened. But the results have been somewhat less than the abolishing of abortion in the United States. Instead, governments across the nation work to allow mothers to end the life of their unborn baby in any way possible. Individual states and court decisions have made mayhem of abortion laws and our future hope as a movement is scattered on a policy level. The good news is the hope that God provides has remained constant. God gives the power for individuals to turn to Him and grow in a relationship with Him. This type of change is both instant and life-long. This is the future ...”Wholeness” from page 5 WWW.PRO.LIFE | 1 (800) 858-3040 | 919 S. MAIN ST, SNOWFLAKE, AZ 85937 6
hope of the pro-life movement; that we will continue to save and change lives through God’s power here on Earth. Every victory in each life is a fulfillment of God’s promise. Keeping that thought close to our actions now will help create wholeness as a movement and an individual. BECOMING A “WHOLE” MOVEMENT To be whole, we must embrace the past, live in the present, and know that our hope is secure in God. God is the God who was, who is and who is to come. He is present and active from beginning to end. If we want wholeness we can’t avoid a painful past or ignore a scary future. We must see God for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do in the future. With that mindset, we will be able to respect those who came before, succeed in the work of today, and plan well for what must be done in the future. — Brandon Monahan

There is one particular line in this hymn that has permeated my thoughts, in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling on June 24, 2022, that saw Roe finally overturned. Here I raise my Ebenezer… these words, however simple, carry a great deal of weight as they reference the prophet Samuel’s raising an Ebenezer to recognize God’s grace and mercy on His people. So, how does this line from a centuries old hymn and a reference to an Old Testament passage connect with June I grew up in rural Tennessee where people were sparse, amenities were slim, but love abounded. This love was illustrated on a regular basis by my grandma. I could share story after story of her love for me, but one instance that stands out above the rest was joining her for Sunrise Service every Easter. We would, begrudgingly, get up before the sun, put on our Sunday best, and join her and my granddad for worship in a small country church that saw its attendance numbers double on that special Sunday every spring. I can still hear her voice today singing those classic hymns that populated so much of my childhood. One such hymn is, WWW.PRO.LIFE | 1 (800) 858-3040 | 919 S. MAIN ST, SNOWFLAKE, AZ 85937 8
“We have an opportunity to let generations know of what God did through the work of his people’s consistent prayer, advocacy, and service.” Andrew Wood 24, 2022? Samuel’s commemoration of this moment wasn’t a throwaway action to act as a placeholder for a short time. Instead, this action was designed to honor God and to show generations just how good and gracious the Father was to His people in their time of need. I am sure, if we take the time, we can all pinpoint our own Ebenezer moments where we recognize God’s goodness and desire to leave markers for those that come after us to see those moments in the same way we see them. This is why I believe that the overturning of one of the most wrongheaded and destructive court decisions in the history of our country is an Ebenezer moment for the Church. We have an opportunity to let generations know of what God did through the work of his people’s consistent prayer, advocacy, and service. These Ebenezer moments are a reminder to all that live, serve, and worship in states that continue to see abortion as the norm. It is not lost on me that I get to live, serve, and worship in a state that ended lawful abortions in 2022. The raising of our Ebenezer doesn’t immediately signal that all is well or problems won’t still arise. The prophet Samuel wasn’t signaling to God’s people that all was well and life would be easy from here on out. Instead, he was encouraging them to take a moment, no matter how brief, to recognize God’s intervention on their behalf. The storms would still come and the memories of hard days gone by would still linger, but the recognition of God’s goodness in that moment would set a trajectory, for those that would come later, that God’s grace is ever present and a source of life in the good and, yes, even in the bad times. A court ruling in the summer of 2022 isn’t the end goal, but it is a marker and a giant first step to a United States where abortion is unthinkable, undesired, and non-existent. So, we raise our Ebenezer today, but we continue our service tomorrow. We can do this with confidence knowing that the God that was ever present in the days of Samuel is ever present with me and you today. And, just as we look to the Ebenezer Samuel raised all those years ago; our kids, grandkids, and great grandkids will look back at 2022 in the same way as life saw a victory when victory seemed out of reach. — Andrew Wood
THIS IS THE YEAR FOR... ...Jubilant With Roe V Wade being overturned after 49 years, 5 months and 2 days, we are in the year of Jubilee. We are literally in the 50th year - in the 50th year of Roe V Wade - and it has been overturned! This is the year for JUBILANT stories. This is the year for continued prayer and answered prayer. This is the year for pro-life Christians to run for local politics. My name is Jacob Barr, and I am the producer of The ProLife Team Podcast. I would enjoy sharing some amazing stories that I discovered through a few of our episodes so far. STORY OF ANSWERED PRAYER In Episode 1 of The ProLife Team Podcast, we explored an amazing story of answered prayer. The current Executive Director Lori Devilez and her team had opened a pregnancy clinic in Austin Texas a few months earlier in this story. “The phone rings. Lori answers the phone. A client is on the phone and she explains that her baby has had water for a few days and that she is in desperate need of formula. Lori didn’t have any formula, but Lori says, ‘Come on in and we will provide you with formula.’ Lori did not go visit Walmart or Walgreens to pick up some formula. Instead, her team took this need to prayer. The team came together and started to pray. They prayed for God to provide formula and while they were praying - someone knocked at the door... Jacob Barr | Producer of The ProLife Team Podcast Stories! Someone from the Health Department pulled up and was at their door. Normally it is not good to have someone from the Health Department at your door! So Lori answers the door and the lady from the Health Department asks Lori if they could use some formula. Lori is elated. She says, ‘We were just praying for formula. You have formula?’ The lady from the Health Department says, ‘We have a van full of formula for you.’ It turns out that the formula was from the post office! Formula samples that are mailed to new parents who have moved, can get returned to the post office. The post office was storing all of these samples in a large bin and throwing it away. continued on page 12...
Then this lady from the Health Department saw it, knew it was expensive and decided to see if someone could use it. And so this pregnancy clinic in Austin received formula for all of their clients who needed formula when they prayed for formula for the first client to ask for formula.” You can hear this entire story from Lori in Episode 1 of The Pro Life Team Podcast. This story is an encouragement as our God is the God who feeds thousands from a boy’s lunch. This is a story of loaves and fishes feeding thousands. This is the year of stories, prayer, encouragement and praising God. LOCAL PRO-LIFE POLITICS This is the year when states regained power to create laws to protect life in the earliest stages without being severely limited by Roe V Wade. Each state has regained the power to pass laws to govern abortion within their state. This is empowering local state politicians. Local politicians include Senators and school board members along with every office in between. Each local political office can have a new impact on life-giving decisions surrounding life and abortion in our local communities. In Episode 46 of The ProLife Team Podcast, I interviewed Louis Barnett. Louis has worked in the political arena of the prolife world by creating prolife voting guides in California. In our podcast together, Louis talked about the need for pro-life people to consider running for local political office. It is important for those who are strongly prolife to consider running for local political office. If you are firmly prolife and willing to learn how to govern, now is the time to start praying about running for local politics. Your prolife voice will have greater impact under the Dobbs decision. For many good people, politics in general is an undesirable destination much like Nineveh. So, it is true that Nineveh is an undesirable place to go - and in fact is a dangerous place to go. If you stop and pray and ask God - “What would you have me do here?” - you may find that He is calling you into a position to influence policy for Him - bringing your life affirming lens to shape local policies. “The Dobbs case has welcomed us into a new era of local pro-life political power making room for life-giving policies in each local community across the country.” Jacob Barr ...”Stories” from page 11 WWW.PRO.LIFE | 1 (800) 858-3040 | 919 S. The symbol of Life Precious Feet Every achievement, great and small has originated with an idea. Very often one good idea leads to still another, thus compounding the impact of the original idea. Such is the story of our Precious Feet lapel pin, identical in size and shape to the feet of a ten week old unborn baby. It was God’s “idea” that you and I should be created in His image and likeness. He declared us His very own children from the moment of fertilization. This is verified in Holy Scripture: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, Before you came to birth, I consecrated you.” Jeremiah 1:5. Our body, God revealed, is a temple of the Holy Spirit. On January 22, 1974 in San Diego, California, preparing for the March for Life on the first anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, prolifers placed a full page ad in the San Diego Union. Prominent in the ad was a picture of the tiny feet of a ten week old unborn baby. The picture haunted me. Dr. Russell Sacco had a remarkable idea back in 1970. The pathologist who shared his lab with Dr. Sacco kept unborn babies (fetuses) in formaldehyde lined up on a shelf. Dr. Sacco, father of four, had become acutely aware of the highly developed state of the very tiniest of these unborn babies. As a photographer, he envisioned the power of a dramatic picture: the tiny feet. Through the years his remarkable photograph of the perfect precious feet held between the thumb and forefinger has become synonymous with prolife action throughout the world. I expressed my immediate reaction to Dr. Sacco’s classic photograph to my husband Ellis: “These precious little feet should be the prolife movement’s official symbol”. Exact size and shape of an unborn baby’s feet at 10 weeks after conception. Recognized as the international symbol of the pro-life movement. Save 10% with code K11H by 12/31/2023. Dr. Sacco confided, “It has been difficult for me to comprehend the enormous impact my picture has had on the pro-life movement”. Our Precious Feet are the direct result of this great photograph. The impact is being felt around the world. The Precious Feet were designated as the “International Pro-Life Symbol” at a world-wide symposium in Dublin, Ireland in 1979. At this writing nearly 12 million have been distributed in 30 countries and 6 continents. Ellis and I directed the Heritage House ‘76 from our home in Taylor, AZ. What started with the Precious Feet became a source for Pro-Life literature, bumper stickers, videos, and just about anything a Pro-Life group would need. For six years the proceeds of the Heritage House supported a home for unwed mothers, run by our daughter and her husband, Mike and Dinah Monahan. In 1992 Ellis and I retired and Mike and Dinah took over. Two years later Ellis went to be with the Lord. No doubt he was ushered into heaven by countless babies whose lives he worked tirelessly to save. Mike and Dinah continue the work today and have expanded the Heritage House into one-of the largest providers of Pro-Life material in the country. The greatest reward for our labor is the fact that the Precious Feet save babies lives. We have received numerous testimonials attesting to this fact. From Atlanta, Georgia: a Birthright volunteer visited a pregnant teenager contemplating abortion in a juvenile facility. The volunteer gave her literature and the Precious feet pin from her lapel, explaining their significance (the girl was exactly 10 weeks pregnant). In the course of their conversation she learned that the girl’s roommate was pregnant and definitely planning on an abortion. We were later informed by letter “the Precious Feet pin did its work--we were able to save not one but two babies”. We are of the conviction that God performs His wonders through His children. It is to Him that we give our daily praises and thanksgiving for the creation of the Precious Feet. ~ Virginia Evers 100% of the proceeds from Heritage House are donated to sponsor the 24/7 Pro-Life Nurse Chat Line. Twenty years ago, my journey as an obstetrician-gynecologist began. I was a second-year medical student shadowing a family medicine physician, when that doctor was called to the hospital for a patient who was in labor and about to deliver. For the first time, I was blessed to witness the miracle of a new, precious life coming into the world. In that moment, I felt tears spring into my eyes. This was the most powerful thing I had ever seen. Seeing my emotional state, a nurse leaned over to me and said, “Oh honey, if this makes you cry, you need to do this for a living!” I realized she was right. What an honor it would be to care for women and their preborn children – two patients at once -- nurturing life with my patients as they build their families. That was the moment my specialty chose me – and I haven’t looked back since. WWW.PRO.LIFE | 1 (800) 858-3040 | 919 S. MAIN ST, SNOWFLAKE, AZ 85937 16
...Physicians Roots RETURN TO THEIR My story is far from unusual; thousands of physicians work in the medical field with the personal goal of preserving and promoting the lives of both their patients. In fact, the Hippocratic Oath, the basis of medical ethics for the last 2000 years, makes a commitment to life the central principle of medicine. The first of the oath’s six tenets is to only act for the benefit of the patient. Building on this idea, the second tenet is to never assist in suicide or perform euthanasia, and the third is to never perform an abortion. For centuries, these values defined the boundaries of the doctor-patient relationship... continued on page 18... Unfortunately, for the past several decades my profession has been straying from its life-affirming Hippocratic roots. Notably, activist leadership in powerful medical bodies such as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) have worked to infuse pro-abortion ideology into our nation’s medical culture. Today, ACOG staunchly supports abortion, describing it as “an essential component of health care” and opposing any efforts to restrict access to it. ACOG even makes efforts to undermine the conscience rights of prolife OB-GYNs by saying doctors have a moral duty to provide “standard reproductive services” such as elective abortion, without defining what establishes those standards, and despite the fact that elective abortion is not healthcare, nor does it treat true medical emergencies. This unqualified pro-abortion advocacy does not reflect the latest scientific research, best medical practices, or the stance of most physicians (around 90% of OB-GYNs, for example, do not perform abortions in their practice). Rather, it is the result of years of lobbying on the part of a small group of leaders within ACOG. ACOG wasn’t always pro-abortion; its 1959 Manual of Standards in Obstetric-Gynecologic Practice did not permit abortions except in cases “where the death of the mother might reasonably be expected to result from natural causes, growing out of or aggravated by the pregnancy, unless the child is destroyed”, known at the time as a therapeutic abortion. But when a few leaders sought to make ACOG into an advocate for abortion on demand, they were able to successfully do so by expanding the definition of a therapeutic abortion to include cases where the woman’s health is at risk. “By returning the question of abortion’s legality to the states, the Supreme Court gave Americans the chance to pass laws that are aligned with the most recent scientific research such as the indisputable evidence that human life begins at conception, and that preborn children can feel pain as early as 10-12 weeks gestation.” Christina Francis, MD ...”Roots” from page 17 WWW.PRO.LIFE | 1 (800) 858-3040 | 919 S. recognize this in both the medical and public spheres. Physicians around the country now have hope that medicine might return to its origins as a life-affirming force – a profession that provides the best care possible to all patients, born and preborn. As I look forward to another year of serving alongside my fellow physicians, I am confident that 2023 will be the year that we return to our Hippocratic roots. This is the year that we take a stand in protecting our most vulnerable patients by abolishing the practice of killing them for no medical reason. This is the year that we find real solutions for our pregnant patients, solutions that truly promote life. This is the year that we bring “do no harm” back into the medical profession. — Christina Francis, MD Health was so broadly defined as to include every possible elective reason for seeking an abortion. This change, made without any input from the common ACOG member, allowed the organization to become a staunch abortion advocate, writing pro-abortion amicus briefs for every major abortion-related Supreme Court case since Roe v. Wade. It also allowed the nation’s medical landscape to deviate from its life-affirming roots. And for nearly 50 years, we continued to stray from our Hippocratic values. But on June 24th, 2022, when the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe and Casey came down, our nation and our profession finally received a significant opportunity to get back on track. By returning the question of abortion’s legality to the states, the Supreme Court gave Americans the chance to pass laws that are aligned with the most recent scientific research – such as the indisputable evidence that human life begins at conception, and that preborn children can feel pain as early as 10-12 weeks gestation. Science clearly shows that the preborn are valuable human beings who deserve high-quality medical care, not abortion. In addition, physicians can now look for ways to care for vulnerable pregnant women other than by killing their preborn children. Abortion has never been a solution to the social or medical complications of pregnancy; the Dobbs decision allows us to

It had been easy to get; request it online and it showed up a few days later. She was happy she had it and she was ready to take it. She just wanted to look online one last time to make sure it was safe. It is estimated that over 53% of abortions occur using the abortion pill mifepristone. In 2020, the FDA removed restrictions for in-person exams and allowed the drug to be mailed after a short online interview. Mifepristone is now available by mail in every state and liberal states like New York have passed laws to protect doctors who prescribe the drug via telehealth even to patients in states where mifepristone is not legal for abortion. Women are encouraged to stock-pile the pills and others have offered to mail the pills to any women in need of ending the life of their unborn child. In short, getting ahold of the abortion pill is now easier and faster than it has ever been. This has created a bleak position for the pro-life movement. Every hour of every day, Infinite Worth nurses connect one of tens-of-thousands of abortion-minded women with pregnancy centers around the world. Even though Infinite Worth is only a few months old, they are expected to serve over 60,000 clients this year. While the abortion pill is easy to get, it is now even easier to talk to a pro-life nurse before the pill arrives. Reaching these women is not just the goal of Infinite Worth, it is the daily reality. The young woman who had the abortion pill ready in case of pregnancy found one of the Infinite Worth nurses. She started a conversation, talked back and forth for days and, finally, decided to crush the abortion pill and keep her appointment with a pregnancy center. The baby was saved as the pro-life movement has adapted to “reach her first” through the Infinite Worth nurses. The scene was horrific. Elderly were being wheeled to the front of the building by frenzied caregivers. Residents who were more high-functioning were caring for and attempting to comfort other residents who were obviously unable to care for themselves. Some of them were bleeding, others were faintly whimpering, and most of them were stunned. Various first responders had arrived on the scene rushing to and fro, carrying the wounded on stretchers, and trying desperately to bring order to the chaos. Police were blocking off the area with the familiar, yellow crime scene tape. As I approached what was obviously a skilled nursing center, I inquired about what had happened. It was as if no one could hear or see me, yet the answer I was seeking seemed to come as a direct revelation from heaven. Plant Seeds Life! of THIS IS THE YEAR TO... What dropped into my heart was not just an answer to what had happened but it also addressed the deeper meaning of why this event had occurred. Young people had suddenly burst into this facility opening fire aimlessly down every corridor. Shooting randomly, their fury, fueled by hatred for this generation, was directed at those they considered unworthy of life, a waste, something to be discarded. They were enraged. They wanted revenge upon this generation who had twisted and distorted the views of their own parents and in their minds caused misery for them. It was a bad dream, a vision that I will never forget. It seemed so real that I was certain I would see something like this in the headlines. I soon realized that the Lord was revealing a deeper meaning to me. The rage we see in our culture today, the hatred and random killings we are witnessing more and more in this nation are not so random. They are the calculated reaping of murderous seeds planted through Roe v. Wade years ago. Seeds of murder were sown, snuffing out the lives of innocent children whose lungs would never take their first breath. continued on page 25... “I soon realized that the Lord was revealing a deeper meaning to me. I realized the ones in the nursing home represented the generation of souls who had complacently stood by when our nation was passing legislation to make the murder of the unborn legal and “safe.” They were the ones now being deemed unfit to survive! Seeds of murder planted by these elderly in their generation were watered by their children, reaping a harvest of hatred and death in the third generation. It takes time for a seed to come to fruition. We are seeing crime scene after crime scene in our nation. Yellow tape is becoming too familiar. Blood and gore, hatred triumphing, insanity escalating; we are seeing outwardly what has been going on inwardly in abortion clinics for decades. CAN WE PASS AROUND THE YELLOW TAPE, PLEASE? CAN WE DESIGNATE ABORTION CLINICS AS CRIME SCENES? So what do we do? Pray for a crop failure? Death has reigned for too long in this nation. While we may not see a quick end to the harvest we are reaping, it is so important that we do not allow that to keep us from sowing a good crop now. It’s time for us to plant seeds of life! Opening our homes and hearts to women who are struggling with a crisis pregnancy, paying rent for a single mom who is working herself to the bone on minimum wage, sharing the Good News to the hurting and the haters are all good places to start planting. THIS IS THE YEAR TO PLANT SEEDS OF LIFE. ARE YOU ALL IN? How about going one step beyond just planting good seeds into those who we believe are deserving of our love. Can we plant seeds of life into our enemies? Would you be willing to open your churches and homes to gather to pray for our nation specifically targeting those politicians who are affirming death? Lest we are quick to put the yellow tape around those who are still planting seeds of death in our nation, can we remember these words penned by the disciple of love? Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. I John 3:15 (NIV) Ouch! Did he have to say that? As we point our fingers at politicians that affirm death, accusing them of murder and outraged at their audacity to dehumanize the pre-born, are we aware of the biblical standard God is calling His people to raise? Is there anyone you are avoiding in church because of seeds of hatred and jealousy rising up in your heart? How about the preacher that makes too much money and drives fancy cars? Do you hate some of your fellow brothers and sisters considering them unworthy of the Savior’s love? GET THE YELLOW TAPE OUT AND LABEL YOUR HEART A CRIME SCENE! ...”Seeds” from page 25 WWW.PRO.LIFE | 1 (800) 858-3040 | 919 S. MAIN ST, SNOWFLAKE, AZ 85937 26
Am I going too far? I don’t think so. Let us back up to the words of Jesus. You know… the red words that mean they came straight from His mouth to the heart of every disciple down through the ages: You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. Matthew 5:21-22 (NKJV) Ouch again! You might say, “But I have a good reason to be angry with so and so!” I hope so because if not, you are in danger of the judgment. God gets to decide the case and bring the gavel down, not you! I have found few reasons to stay angry with anyone. Oh, my flesh tries, but it never wins. GET OUT THE YELLOW TAPE AGAIN! Let us dare not lift up our hands to God while they are stained with blood! It’s time we allowed God to pluck out the seeds of anger and hatred that breed a harvest of death and destruction in our churches and homes. We must stop our own raging and ranting about the death and lawlessness that has reigned. It’s time to get busy looking for opportunities to bring life to those who will no longer have the quick fix of abortion. It’s time to support life-affirming politicians. This is the year to plant seeds of life, scattering them richly around our neighborhoods, communities, and this nation. This is the year to trade the yellow tape for life-giving seed. Let us mark out places to plant a garden of hope for future generations. Brandon Lake wrote a song in 2020 that won the Dove Award for song of the year. It was entitled, “Graves into Gardens.” I think this is a very fitting title for us today. Can we be the generation that turns graves into gardens? Can we be the ones that sow life? It might take time, but if we are patient farmers, we will reap a bountiful harvest of life! Now is the time. God is giving us favor. This is the year… less yellow tape, more beautiful gardens. — Doreen Strohm Doreen Strohm

Precious Hands Info Cards “These are the neatest products.. EVER..! The Precious Hands are so beautifully detailed and they reach out to everyone for impassioned response..”here I am”..and “notice me”..clarifying the loss of one tiny life....remembered. I usually wear two..and give one or more away. I also keep some in my pocket.” ~Mia Archer “I own a number of these hands - one pair to wear, others to give away. The ten tiny fingers show up very nicely against a shirt, and get people’s attention.” ~Elsa “I am the Executive Director for the Care Net Pregnancy Care Center of the Finger Lakes in Geneva, NY. We have used the Precious Feet & hand pins for almost 20 years! We see such an impact using them in the schools, churches & our men’s group. LOVE THEM!” Patricia Button “I have loved the feet for years, but these are really special. They are a bit more delicate, so use care with them, but they are really eye catching and I love wearing them and giving them away. I have ordered both gold and silver in the past. I place them in a bowl and it’s interesting to see how an individual knows that they specifically want one or the other, and will dig to find what they want.” ~Carol Marie “We give these to clients, volunteers and take them to public events. People are amazed about the size and it helps us make the point that at 10 weeks, it is a BABY!!!!!” ~RPRC “A must-have for pro-life work! Folks are always amazed to see these at our display tables once we explain that they’re exact replicas of a 10 week old baby’s hands. A wonderful intro into discussing the humanity of the unborn.” ~Noelle “I have given these pins out before, and people are amazed to know the truth of the development of the baby at such an early stage. I will be presenting these to the teens that attend our next purity event as a reminder that their lives aren’t the only ones at stake in the choice to stay sexually pure until marriage.” ~Cynthia

But God... But God. I love those words… But God was at work in the mother’s heart and she did not go. In February of 1959 their daughter was born. Me. I recognize now how I struggled through my first decades of life. Searching for something I had not known and didn’t know I was missing. Searching for the unconditional love that only comes from God and should have been mirrored by my earthly father. I spent almost forty years doing life my way. Seeking to fill a hole that only God could. During those years God allowed sin to have free reign, but as Job was spared from death, so was I. The path I was treading certainly would have led me to sickness, incarceration and inevitably death. Looking back, I see God’s sovereignty in it all and how my life experiences uniquely prepared me for what God had planned. In the 50 years of Roe v Wade I had personally experienced the aftermath of that decision. Four of those 63 million babies that died were my own. continued on page 32... I was glued to our black and white television in July of 1969 as the limits of earth were shattered and men walked on the moon. I was aware of a Supreme Court ruling in January of 1973 but really didn’t understand the significance of it or how it would impact my life. Then on June 24, 2022 I was an invested witness to the overturning of that Supreme Court ruling. I’d like to take you back in time to an event that was not televised. It made no headlines. In fact, I am now probably the only “witness” to the event. In 1958, after 10 years in a less than ideal marriage, a couple was blessed with a positive pregnancy test. The father did not want his child and the mother was under the thumb of her husband. So when he made an appointment for her to “get rid of the baby” she acquiesced. Dressed and heading out the door, she stopped.
But here I am, at age 63 - happily and proudly proclaiming the life and liberty that only Jesus can provide! I allowed Jesus to grab a hold of me and set me free from my sin in November of 1998. In the 23 years since that decision: • I’ve taught Sunday School for over 15 years. • I was a teacher for Children’s Church. • I became a Vacation Bible School director and coordinator for the acting portion of VBS. • I led the Women’s Ministry and taught Bible studies. • And I have been a volunteer with my local pregnancy resource center since 2018 as a peer counselor and an After Abortion Care Bible Study facilitator. • I’ve written a book and am helping women recognize and acknowledge their value and worth to our Abba Father. • Personally I have been happily married to a godly man for over 36 years. • We have raised and home schooled two sons who are serving, worshiping and following Christ. This past year both of them married beautiful, God-fearing, Proverbs 31 women. And I am now experiencing the grandma pangs as I wait for the Lord to expand our family! I said all of these things not because I want or need man’s applause or recognition. That “resume” is all for the glory of God. He took a woman mired in sin and redeemed her for His purpose. I have been on both sides of the abortion debate. I understand the feeling of “no other choice.” And I understand the feeling of possibly never having existed. What if my mother had aborted me? The chain reaction of not having been plays in the theater of my mind like a retelling of “It’s A Wonderful Life.” Teary eyed I look at my sons and I can not imagine a world without them. continued on page 34... “But God.
