“God is looking for leaders who slow down long enough to hear and obey when He speaks. Remember what my mentor shared: you can’t give away what you do not have.” Pat Layton Sometimes our “rest” is not simply stopping physical activity. It is not just “getting away.” Sometimes, less often but sometimes, this God kind of rest is in the midst of what we are doing and where we are going. In Exodus 33:14, God says, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Rest is exchanging our frenzy and frustrations, our hurry ups and anxiety for His unruffled peace and His strength. God wants to show how His “thoughts of you” drop right into the middle of your daily to-do list. God’s rest and restoration leave us with a divine sense of destiny and the knowledge that God is up to something in our life. REST AND RESTORATION WILL ALLOW ME TO STAY THE COURSE AND FINISH MY RACE! God is looking for leaders who slow down long enough to hear and obey when He speaks. Remember what my mentor shared: you can’t give away what you do not have. I hope you will claim those words as your own like I have. You can’t spread peace if you are frazzled. You can’t bring hope if you are hopeless. You can’t share life unstuck if you are stuck! God longs to reveal His holy desires in our lives in order to overflow into the lives of others, but He requires an undisturbed heart. I want to remind you, friend—and me too—it is those times when we have allowed rest and restoration to prepare us that make us able to draw upon what God has deposited for the tougher times. ...”Stay the Course” from page 94 WWW.PRO.LIFE | 1 (800) 858-3040 | 919 S.
